The Promises of God

We sometimes make promises that we don’t keep. As humans we make mistakes and broken promises. We don’t always keep our word. Psalm 118:8 says, “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.” God always keeps his promises to us. He will never let us down. His words are true and we can count on him.

There are many promises in God’s word to us. 2 Corinthians 1:20 tells us, “For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.” When God makes promises we don’t have to worry about him changing his mind. We don’t have to worry about him, not feeling like keeping his word. We don’t have to worry about him getting angry or going back on his word. It pleases God to keep his word concerning us. Jeremiah 1:12 states,”Then said the Lord unto me, thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.” God is saying that he watches over his word. He knows what he’s spoken into our lives. Everything that he promised us, he will bring it to pass.

We should strive to be more like God in our daily lives. We should read and learn about the promises he made to us. By reading his word we’ll know his promises for ourselves. God’s words spoken over us increases our faith. His word tells us to believe in him. His word says to trust him. His words says to hold on to him and all of his promises in the bible. Hebrews 10:23 tells us, “Let hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering, for he is faithful that promised.” God lets us know that his promises are worth it, follow him and be patient because he will bless you. His word tells us that there is an end to our pain and suffering. There are blessings beyond anything we could ever imagine for ourselves. There is peace and hope for us. God hasten to perform his word which are promises to us.

Don’t put faith in man but trust God. His word is full of grace, wisdom, hope, happiness, joy and peace. These are promises from God to us. Hope in him. God is for us. May God bless and keep you.
